Macon – Mrs. Ruth West Avant passed away November 13, 2011. Graveside services will be held 3:00 pm Tuesday November 15, 2011 in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the graveside service at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home.
Mrs. Avant was born in Baldwin County to the late Howard Ira West and Annie Vivian Wilkinson West. She was preceded in death by her husband William Wade Avant, Sr., her son William “Billy” Wade Avant, Jr ., sister, Martha W. Gladin and brother O.B. West. Mrs. Avant was also a member of Bellevue Baptist Church in Macon.
Survivors include her brothers, Ralph (Gwen) West of Milledgeville, H. Sibley (Mary Sue) West, and James D. (Helen) West of Vidalia, GA; sister, Alice W. Ryle of Clemmons, NC; several nieces and nephews also survive.
