

Sandra Cooper McDaniel, of Sandy Springs, GA and Fripp Island, S.C., passed away Sunday, December 23, 2012 after a long and courageous battle with cancer in Panama City Beach in the comfort of her son’s home, surrounded by her loving family.
Sandra was born in Savannah, GA on March 19, 1937 to the late John and Edith (Rogers) Cooper. Sandra graduated from Miller High School in Macon, GA. She was previously married for 38 years to C. William McDaniel Sr.
Survivors include her son, C. William McDaniel Jr. and Tina L. Brown Panama City Beach, FL and daughter Tamra McDaniel Kelsen of Naperville, IL along with Tamra’s husband Andrew and their two children Samantha and Ryan.
Sandra lived an extraordinary life. An avid tennis player, Sandra was on the court several times a week and was active in competitive play up until shortly before her death. A true southern belle in every sense of the word, Sandra transformed her gardens and homes into a show place of beauty and splendor. She truly loved life and loved creating beautiful spaces. A true patriot, Sandra would often anonymously buy lunch for servicemen in uniform thanking them for their service to our great country. A loving mother, good friend and devoted wife she will be forever remembered in our hearts.
Funeral services will take place at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home in Macon, GA on Thursday, January 3, 2013 at 11 a.m. Interment will follow at Rose Hill Cemetery.
