Sara Emma Hancock Coward

Lizella, GA - Sara Emma Hancock Coward, 88, passed away on Monday, March 14, 2011. Funeral services and a celebration of life will be held on Thursday, March 17, 2011 at 2:00 p.m. at Lizella United Methodist Church. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Loran Smith officiating. The family will greet friends on Wednesday, March 16, 2011 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home and can be reached at 8041 Bethel Church Rd., Lizella. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lizella United Methodist Church, PO Box 950, Lizella GA 31052.

Sara Emma was born in Lizella, Georgia to the late Charlie Garfield and Susie Rebecca Hancock. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joseph C. Coward, Sister, Oletta H. Newberry (JC), brother, Lawson Hancock, nephew James C. Newberry Jr and her niece and best friend, Rebecca N. Toole. She was a graduate of A.L. Miller High School and was a faithful member of the Lizella United Methodist Chruch and the Wesley Fellowship Sunday School Class. She was retired from Robins Air Force Base.

She is survived by her niece, Jeanette P. Newberry of Macon, great nieces, Susan T. Riley (Bennie) of Lizella, Roslyn T. Webb (Greg) of Lizella and C. Lisa Murray (Ralph), great nephews, Charles P. Newberry (Joni) of Texas, R. Keith Newberry (Joanna) of Macon, John T. Toole, Jr of Lizella, great great nephews, Benjie Riley, Brandon, Kyle and Tyler Newberry, Zackery Murray and Thomas Toole, great great nieces, Kristen Knapp (Andy),Shelli Linder, Jennifer Miles, Brittany and Amber Webb, great great great nephew, Coleman Austin Riley, great great great nieces Riley Knapp and Kylee Webb.
