Sara Rowland Stripling, 82, went to be with her Lord and Savior, Saturday, February 4, 2017. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, February 7, 2017 at 1:00pm in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with Raford Johnson officiating. The family will greet friends at the funeral home an hour prior to the service.
Sara was born in Mount Vernon, Georgia to the late James and Lizzie Gillis Rowland and was preceded in death by her brothers, Jack Rowland and Harvey Doyle Rowland, Sr.; and sisters, Juanita Collins and Margie Rowland. She was retired after 48 years from Keebler and was one of the first female mechanics there. Sara was a former member of Willingham Baptist Church. She was a loving and devoted mother, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, and friend.
Survivors include her daughters, Darselle Hammock and Donna Davis; grandchildren, Beth (Bobby) Johnson, Shane Hammock, Amanda Davis, and Alyssa Davis; great grandson, Konnor Johnson; brother, Larry (Andra) Grinstead; sister, Margaret Purdee; and a great number of nieces and nephews.
