Carolyn Jones Taylor, passed away peacefully on Friday, October 9, 2026. She was a mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, and great great grandmother. Carolyn is survived by her daughter, Carol Taylor Rose, grandson, Anthony Taylor (TJ) Brightman, adopted church family, Tina Parks (Perry), Christie Glover (Lee), Pax Glover, great grandson and Rob Parks (Savannah), Camden Parks, great grandson. Carolyn is survived by her second devoted husband of 14 years, Richard Wells, Richard’s children, Sandra W. Rooks and Debbie Redd, Richard Wells, Jr. (Ricky) and his wife JoVonna, grandchildren, Brandi Dykes (Toby) and great grandchildren, Tori Butts (Craig) and Mason Turner, great great-grandson, Bentley Smith. Carolyn also leaves a niece, Cheryl Gibson (Alvin) in Gainesville and a nephew, Terry Taylor in Hiawassee.
Carolyn began her career as a legal secretary for Coleman Tidwell, where she worked for 40 years. Carolyn was Financial Secretary at Shurlington Methodist Church for 40 years and was known as the candy lady. Carolyn has been a Moose Club Member for 51 years. Carolyn always loved fund raising at Shurlington Methodist Church with church BBQ’s and Vidalia Onion Sales.
Carolyn was preceded in death by her loving, caring husband of 49 years, Eugene Rex Taylor and her brother, Louis W. Jones, Jr. Carolyn was preceded in death by her parents, Louis Wynton Jones, Sr. and Sarah Nelson Jones.
The family was very grateful for the excellent love and care provided for Carolyn by Family Hospice.
A celebration of her life will be held at Shurlington Methodist Church on Tuesday, October 13, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. with Chaplain Robbie Kerr. Visitation will be at Snow’s at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home, 3969 Mercer University Drive, Macon, Georgia on Monday, October 12, 2026, from 5:00 to 7:00 p.m.
