A celebration of her life will be held Saturday, January 12, 2019 at 11:00 am in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Rev. Joe McDaniel officiating. The family will greet friends following the service. There was a private burial held in the Mausoleum of Macon Memorial Park Cemetery in December. Savanna was born in Macon, Georgia, on April 24, 1985, to Ron and Ramona Avera Harrell. When she was living in Macon, Savanna was a member of Wesleyan Drive Baptist Church, where she was a member of the choir. She was a 2005 graduate of Westside High School and went on to attend Middle Georgia State University and was on the President’s List. Savanna then attended Central Georgia Technical College, pursuing a career as an X-Ray Technician. She was an avid sky watcher and weather enthusiast, and especially loved meteor showers, eclipses, blood moons and comets. Savanna also enjoyed trips to the beach and even swam with the manatees at Silver River in Florida, and had an encounter with dolphins in the Bahamas.
In addition to her parents, Savanna is survived by numerous aunts, uncles and cousins. She is preceded in death by her paternal grandparents, Walter D. and Iris Moore Harrell; maternal grandparents, Milton J. Sr. and Sally Stubbs Avera; sister, Aubrey Denise Harrell; uncle, Milton James Avera, Jr.; and her beloved cat, Mama Cat, who is buried with Savanna.
