At twenty-one and a first year teacher, "Miss Hall" came to live with my family when I was just five years old.  She was the sister this only child never had.  Not only was she my 4th grade reading teacher (hence the reason I have always called her Miss Hall), but also she was my inspiration for becoming a teacher.  Oh, the memories of her entertaining stories about her day spent at school told nightly at our dinner table! Her love for her students far transcended the classroom as she attended their extra-curricular activities and became a part of their families.  Just a few of my memories include laughing until we cried while watching "The Carol Burnett Show" every Saturday night, eating her scrumptious pork chop casserole, watching her do backbends and cartwheels all over our backyard as she patiently tried to teach me to do these, and seeing the love and pride on her face as she held my own babies in her arms.  We loved and laughed through all these years, and I could always count on her to set me straight when I needed it!  She will forever be my Miss Hall, and my children's Aunt Miss Hall.  May she rest peacefully in God's loving arms.

Sincere sympathy to all of Shirley's family and friends.  I enjoyed working with Shirley in the Wilkinson County School System and later as a volunteer in the Macon Little Theatre Box Office. She was a sweet lady and a dedicated, committed and competent educator and manager. Shirley...Rest in peace!

Shirley was such a loyal support of Macon Little Theatre for so many, many years!  I am convinced that God has already recruited Shirley for his heavenly events!  My prayers are with those who knew Shirley best, Ginger and Jerry, as well as every one who will miss her.

"There's no people like show people".  On with the show, sweet Shirley.  We will see you when we get to the cast party.  ;-)

I remember Shirley as a very kind, giving friend with a genuine love for life. My heart goes out to her family and friends. She will be greatly missed by many.

I will never ever go into a Burger King without thinking of Shirley! Go Rest on that Mountain Shirley. We will all miss you
