

Sue J. Kemp, 82, passed away Monday surrounded by her family. A celebration of her life will be held at 2:00 p.m., Saturday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with burial in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The Rev. Steve Hamrick will officiate. The family will meet friends from 1:00 p.m. to service time on Saturday at the funeral home.
Sue was born in Brunswick, GA to the late George W. Johns and Emma Irby Johns on September 21, 1934. She was a cosmetologist, a devoted homemaker, involved in scouting and crochet club, and totally dedicated to her family and friends. Living her Christian Faith, she was always reaching out to help others.
Sue’s family would like to extend a special word of thanks to the staff of the Waterford Assisted Living in Oakwood, GA, to Affinis Hospice of North East Georgia and to the Northridge Medical Center Staff in Commerce, GA. She was preceded in death by her first husband of nine years, Leon Cleghorn, Sr. and by her second husband of fifty-one years, Claude H. Kemp, Jr., her sister, Carolyn Crouch and her brother, Earl Johns.
Survivors include her seven favorite children, Daphine (Richard) Tolbert, Leon (Karen) Cleghorn, Dorothy Roberson, Joe (DeShelle) Cleghorn, Carl Cleghorn, Emilie (Jeff) Grace, and “Sam” Claude H. (Robyn) Kemp, III; twelve grandchildren; four great grandchildren and her brothers, Buddy Johns and Ed Burnham.
