

Teresa Shipley Hoover, 83, of Macon, Georgia passed away Friday, July 11, 2025, at her residence. Memorial services will be held Saturday, July 19, 2025, at 3:00 p.m. at First Presbyterian Church in Macon. Burial will be private at Kea’s Methodist Church Cemetery in Adrian, Georgia. The family will have a time of visitation on Saturday afternoon, July 19, 2025, following the service.
Born in Macon, Teresa was the daughter of the late Vernus Myron Shipley and Elsie Kea Shipley Smith (Travis).
Mrs. Hoover was a member of the First Presbyterian Church, where she was a member of the Covenant Sunday School Class. She also worked with the Cherry Blossom Festival as an Event Coordinator. She was a former elementary teacher, having taught in Macon at Brookdale Elementary, Rosa Taylor Elementary, First Presbyterian Day School, and Springdale Elementary.
She is survived by her husband of 64 years, John Hoover; children - Chris Hoover, Kevin Hoover (Becky), and Kea Mitchell (Terrell); nine grandchildren – Sarah Masters (Brian), JT Hoover (Lauren), Ruthie Bradley (Josh), Elisa Hudson (Walker), Ben Hoover (Emily), Kathleen Hoover, Tee Mitchell, Lillian Mitchell, and Anna Claire Mitchell; and four great grandchildren – Micah Hoover, Lucy Hoover, Lincoln Hoover, and Otto Masters.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations to the First Presbyterian Church, 682 Mulberry St. Macon, Georgia 31201, or to University of North Georgia 61 Scholarship Fund, www.unggive.org.
