Thelma A Johnson

Thelma Marie Altman Johnson 78, of Canton, Georgia passed away Monday, July 6, 2026, A celebration of her life will be held Friday, July 10, 2026, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Snows at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Reverend Paul Dziadul will officiate. The family will have a visitation following the service in the funeral home. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.

Born in Waycross, Georgia, she was the daughter of the late Gibson and Mary Frances Steedley Altman. She was also preceded in death by a sister, Melba Waters.

Mrs. Johnson was a retired medical transcriptionist from Drs Frank Arnold and Tom Williams office in Macon for many years. She was a member of Vineville Baptist Church where she attended Sunday school and participated in many church activities.

She loved planting seasonal flowers and decorating her home. She especially enjoyed feeding and watching the birds on her porch, while listening to her many windchimes. She was well loved by all in her community and especially her family

She is survived by her husband, Terry Johnson, children, Angela Nix (Bryan) and Robert Johnson (Ana); grandchildren, Elizabeth and Katherine Nix; Siblings, Tommy Altman (Susan, deceased), Alice Faye Foster (Jack), Mildred Kimbell (Johnny); Several nieces, nephews and great nieces and nephews, numerous cousins.

In lieu of flowers the family request donations be made to Vineville Baptist Church.

Snows at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
