Velma Jewel Wooten, 92, died Monday, September 17, 2012 in a local nursing facility. Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m., Thursday in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with the Rev. Rex Odom officiating. Burial will be private in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will meet friends from 1 p.m. to service time on Thursday at the funeral home.
Mrs. Wooten, wife of the late Daniel Vernon Wooten, was the daughter of the late George and Jewel Gilbert Cranford. A graduate of Miller/Lanier High School, she was a devoted homemaker and was of the Methodist faith. Mrs. Wooten was preceded in death by her daughter, Brenda and a granddaughter, Alana.
Survivors include her son, Stanley Kimball of Cocoa Beach, FL; her sister, Joyce Walsh of Macon; six grandchildren, Dianne Bailey, David Bailey, Cynthia Fowler, Daniel Singletary, Donald Singletary and Connie Lynn; twelve great grandchildren.
