Born in Gainesville, Florida, he was the son of the late Wallace Leon Burns Sr. and Carolyn Rebecca Massey Burns. He was a resident of the ARC group home on Southern Oaks Dr for many years.
Wally was easy to overlook due to his inability to communicate verbally. He had a retiring nature and a slight frame, but lots of personality packed into those 97 pounds. He had an iron clad will like his dad, so if he did not want to do something, he wouldn’t. He loved to eat and drink the “good stuff”, all the foods he was not supposed to have. If you left a Coke in his vicinity, it became yesterday’s news. He loved pureed pizza and drinking milk straight out of the gallon jug.
His passion was riding in any vehicle with wheels. He never missed an opportunity to ride in a personal car, the van or even the neighborhood golf cart. He also enjoyed sitting in the sun and soaking up the warm rays. While Wally was easy to overlook, he cast a shadow of goodness on everyone he met and changed them for the better. Godspeed Wally, have a Coke for us.
He is survived by his brothers, Travis Burns (Patty) and Tracy Burns (Cathy) Nephews, Tyler Burns (Breean) Mathew Comeau, Derrick Cobb and Nieces, Danielle Comeau (Danny Smith), Bridgett Cobb; great nieces, Emma Burns, Holly Cleveland and Nephew, Noah Smith.
Snows at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home has charge of arrangements.
