Mr. Brooks, son of the late Walter Ellis and Louise Summers Brooks, was born in Atlanta. He graduated from O'Keefe High School in Atlanta, where most knew him as Bubba. Mr. Brooks worked several years for Georgia Power, and later for Byer's Engineering, where he retired in 2001. He was an avid sports enthusiast, loving golf and attending the Master's Tournament for 25 years, Atlanta Falcon football, and above the others, Georgia Tech.
Mr. Brooks was preceded in death by his brothers, Franklin Brooks and Harry Brooks, and his sisters, Ann Brooks, and Mary Zentz.
Surviving Mr. Brooks are his wife, Hazel Lee Neal Brooks; daughters, Lesa (Mark) Reece, Brenda Powell; son, Mark (Sabrina) Brooks; grandchildren, Rebecca Reece, Lauren Brooks, Tristan Brooks, Dawson Brooks; sister Emily (Jerry) Chapman; several nieces and nephews; and Lucy the dog.
