Walter Eugene Johnson Sr.

Walter Eugene Johnson, Sr., 86, went to be with his Lord and Savior on Saturday, June 21, 2025. A celebration of his life will be held on Wednesday, June 25, 2025, at 1:00 p.m. at Lizella Baptist Church with the Rev. Chris Minton and Pastor Robert Webb officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends on Tuesday, June 24, 2025, from 6:00 – 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Lizella Baptist Church, 2950 S. Lizella Road, Lizella, Georgia or Brightmoor Hospice, 115 Arkwright Landing, Macon, Georgia.

Eugene was born in Macon, Georgia to the late Jessie Bernard and Ethel Mae Pender Johnson. He was preceded in death by his three brothers, J.B. Johnson, Raymond Johnson, Cecil Aldine Johnson. Eugene was retired from Georgia Power Company after thirty-five years of service. He was a member of Lizella Baptist Church and the Glenn Talbert Sunday School Class. Eugene was an excellent carpenter and enjoyed traveling and RV Camping. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, great grandfather, brother and uncle.

He is survived by his beloved wife of sixty-nine years, Patsy Scott Johnson of Macon, four children, Walter Eugene “Gene” Johnson, Jr. of Macon, Patricia (David) Stevens of Macon, Angie (Darrell) Edge of Lizella, Kristie (Mark) Wilson of Macon, grandchildren, Chris (Robin) Harris, Trey (Mickey) Johnson, Jessica (Taylor) Kirby, Casey (Brandon) Watson, Averie (Parker) Moore, Adam Wilson, eleven great grandchildren and one great great grandchild on the way, two sisters, Charlotte Moody and Ellen Haygood, and several nieces and nephews.
