Warren "Scotty" F. Shepherd Jr.

Warren F. “Scotty” Shepherd, Jr., 72, passed away on Tuesday, March 30, 2021 surrounded by his family. A visitation will be held on Friday, April 2, 2021 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Beverly Knight Olson Children’s Hospital, 888 Pine Street, Macon GA 31201.

Scotty was born in Midland, TX to the late Warren F. Shepherd Sr. and Awilda Smith Shepherd. He was a graduate of Lanier High School and the FBI Academy. Scotty was retired from the Macon Bibb County Sherriff’s Department as a Major after thirty years of service. He was also a former County Commissioner for District #7. He was a member of Midway Baptist Church, Lizella Masonic Lodge #663 and a Shriner. Scotty was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, uncle and friend. Papa was his favorite title in life.

He is survived by his wife, Patsy Miles Shepherd of Macon, children, Shannon (Allen) Jones of Byron, Tripp (Christa) Shepherd of Lizella, four beloved grandchildren, Payton Shepherd, Mason Jones, Avery Shepherd and Olivia Shepherd, sister, Karen Harper (Joe Pinkerton), brothers, Bobby (Denise) Shepherd, Wayne (Paula) Shepherd, brother-in-law, Keith (Becky) Miles, uncle, Al (Gail) Smith and aunt, Eileen Smith and several nieces, nephews, cousins and devoted fur babies, Charlie, Josey, Shep and granddogs, Lola and Lila.
