

William McKinley Clifton, Jr., 88, passed away on Saturday, January 11, 2014. A celebration of his life will be held on Friday, January 17, 2014 at 3:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Norm Yukers officiating. The family may be contacted at the residence. Mr. Clifton was born in Macon, Georgia to the late William McKinley Clifton, Sr. and Winnie Davis Clifton. He was preceded in death by his wife, Sybil Park Clifton. He served in the United States Navy during World War II. He built, owned, and operated Clifton’s Hardware. Mr. Clifton was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church and was a former member of Tabernacle Baptist Church. He was an avid deer hunter, woodworker, and gardener, and enjoyed bowling on a senior league.
He is survived by his children; William McKinley (Kathryn) Clifton III of Hiram, GA, Jill Clifton (Kim) Lander of Macon, Damon Bradley Clifton, grandchildren; Valerie Clifton (Nate) Wilke of Houston, TX, Rachel Marissa (Daniel) Braly of Houston, TX, Tara Lander (Brock) Merriman of Cocoa, FL, Olivia Parke Lander of Macon, five great grandchildren; Kaden, Brendan, and Chandler Braly, Daisy and Taylor Ussery.
