

William Quinton Hudson, Sr., Retired First Class Petty Officer, USN, 90, passed away Tuesday, April 19, 2016. Funeral services will be held Sunday, April 24, 2016 at 2:00pm in the Chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home with Deacon Bill Hudson officiating. Burial with Military Honors will follow in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery. The family will greet friends from 12:00 noon until service time at the funeral home. Mr. Hudson was born in Gray, Georgia to the late Joseph Thomas and Elizabeth Hammock Hudson and was preceded in death by his wife, Josephine Mary Sobus Hudson. He was retired from the United States Navy and was a Veteran of World War II, serving in the Submarine Division, aboard the USS Blower and USS Amberjack. Mr. Hudson owned several small businesses, including Dipper Dan Ice Cream Parlor, The Boutique Shop and Hudson Realty. He attended Mabel White Memorial Baptist Church and was a member of the Toastmasters Club, Optimist Club, the Submarine Veterans of World War II, and The American Legion.
Survivors include his children, Katherine Hudson, Robert Hudson, Barbara Ann Allison, Mary Beth (David) Mahoney, Bill (Zoe) Hudson Jr., and Walter Hudson; grandchildren, Brittany (Jonathan) Waters, Patrick Hudson, Christopher Allison, Nicholas (Kasie) Allison, Danielle Allison, Brandon (Logan) Mahoney, Blake Mahoney, Matthew Mahoney, Natalie Mahoney, Jordan Hudson, and Carly Hudson; and great grandchildren, Penelope Rose, Kaylin Hope and Adalyn Faith.
