

Winnie “Mama Winnie” Lovelace Cortes, 90, passed away on Thursday, July 17, 2014 surrounded by her family. A rosary will be said on Sunday, July 20, 2014 at 5:00 p.m. in the chapel of Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. The family will greet friends following the rosary at 5:30 p.m. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at 10:00 a.m. on Monday, July 21, 2014 at Holy Spirit Catholic Church with Father Michael Kavanaugh officiating. Burial will be in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery.
Mrs. Cortes was born in Stevenson, AL to the late Preston and Ettie Wynn Lovelace. She was preceded in death by her husband, Joel Cortes, a daughter, Paulette Cortes, a son, David Cortes, granddaughter, Victoria Cortes and brothers, Wallace R. Lovelace and Oren Lovelace. She was a member of Holy Spirit Catholic Church and was an avid bowler, and especially enjoyed fishing with her family. She was a devoted and loving wife, mother, grandmother, great grandmother and sister.
She is survived by her children; Alan Cortes of Macon, Ken (Janice) Cortes of Lizella, Sandy (Morgan) Corley of Bolingbroke, Richard (Elizabeth) Cortes of Macon, Glen (Kathi) Cortes of Macon, Steven (Patricia) Cortes of Lizella, daughter-in-law; Karen Cortes of Ellijay, GA, grandchildren; Alan Cortes, Jr., Amy Cortes Gilpin, Dona Cortes, Natalie Cortes (Ryan) Casbon, Nicole Cortes, Seve Cortes, Casey Cortes, Jessie Bowen (Brandon) Winget, Rebecca Robitzsch (Jared) Thompson, Joel Cortes, Justin Cortes, Ayla Cortes, Austin Cortes, Amber M. Cortes (Joseph) Harper, Steven W. Cortes, Kyle D. Cortes, great grandchildren; Abriana and Tyler Cortes, Cason Gilpin, William Casbon, Henry Casbon, Morgan Cortes, Carly Winget, Cameryn Winget, Cole Winget ,Connor “Bo” Winget, Alex Thompson and Cece Harper, step grandchildren; Benjamin Hibbitts, Morgan Corley Jr., and Jarrett Corley.
