Wyndell H. Sikes

Wyndell Haskell Sikes, Sr., 83, passed away on Thursday, November 17, 2016. Graveside services will be held Tuesday, November 22, 2016 at 2:00 p.m. in Macon Memorial Park Cemetery with the Rev. Tim Long officiating. The family will greet friends on Monday, November 21, 2016 from 5:00 - 7:00 p.m. at Macon Memorial Park Funeral Home. Flowers will be accepted or donations may be made to the Alzheimer’s Association, 866 Mulberry St., Macon GA 31201.

Mr. Sikes was born in Cochran, GA to the late Floyd Haskell and Jewel Johnson Sikes. He was preceded in death by his brothers, Jimmy Sikes and Kent Sikes. He was a graduate of Cochran High School and attended Middle Georgia College. Wyndell served in the United States Army and was a member of Pine Forest Baptist Church. He was employed with Standard Oil Company for many years and then became, co-owner of Freeway Foods and owned Sikes Rental Properties. He was a devoted and loving husband, father, grandfather, brother, and uncle.

The family would like to express their gratitude for the wonderful care given to Mr. Sikes over the past year by Dinita Bentley of Macon Home Care Services.

Left to cherish his memory his beloved wife of fifty seven years, Patricia Moore Sikes of Macon, daughter, Cheryl Sikes Stefanis and her husband, Dr. George Stefanis, son, Wyndell Haskell Sikes, Jr. and his wife, Jennifer, four grandchildren whom he cherished, Alexandra Ann Stefanis, Whitney Lynn Sikes, Wyndell “Dell” Haskell Sikes, III, Jacqueline Ann Marie Sikes, sister-in-laws, Jean Moore Bragg, Charlotte Moore Reynolds, brother-in-law, Larry Wayne Moore and his wife, Jan all of Macon, and several nieces, nephews and cousins.
