Coert was born and raised in the Netherlands, and it was there that he met the love of his life, his future wife, Jane. In 1995, they welcomed their daughter Paige into the world. Shortly after, they made the decision to come to America, where they settled in Millington for 11 years. The whole family moved back to Amsterdam for 3 years in 2011 only to move back to the USA in 2014. Jane and Coert settled in Brooklyn while their daughter Paige stayed to attend the University of Amsterdam. After 6 years in Brooklyn Jane and Coert moved to Jersey City for 5 years prior to moving to Waretown.
Coert was a dedicated IT professional who could solve any problem that was presented to him. He was beloved by his co-workers, who he also called his friends.
He was an avid exerciser who dedicated himself to healthy and clean living. He had an unwavering passion for excellence which touched every part of his life. Coert loved to read, walk and spend most of his time with Jane.
Coert is survived by Jane, his beloved wife of 33 years, his devoted daughter Paige, his loving mother Oeti and his sister Japke. He is also survived by his nieces Mandy and Marieke, his cousin Ed who was like a brother to him and his nephew Flynn.
A visitation will be held Thursday, November 5, 2026, from 2-4 and 7-9 at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard Dr., Manahawkin, NJ. A Mass of Christian Burial will be held 11:00 on Friday, November 6, 2026, at St. Mary Church, West Bay Avenue, Barnegat, NJ.
