Donald Lewis Everhart, 92 years of Barnegat, NJ passed away peacefully
on September 15, 2026. Don was born in Lancaster PA to the late John
and Ethel Snavely Everhart on February 7, 1934, joining his older sister
Jacqueline.
He spent most of his early childhood in Lancaster, moving to Ridley
Township, PA, during World War II so that his father could work as a
welder for military equipment. Don was a 1952 graduate of Ridley
Township High School. He was member of the National Guard and served
his country in the United States Army.
In December of 1956 he married Justine “Jeanne” Chaplin, they welcomed
their first daughter Michele in 1959 and soon after Donna arrived in 1961.
This was the beginning of their 69 year long marriage. They raised their
family in Haskell NJ and later moved to Wanaque where they lived for 25
years before retiring to Las Vegas, Nevada.
Don was employed at State Farm Insurance working in data processing for
35 years where many co workers and their families became life long
friends. He enjoyed target shooting, ballroom dancing, photography and
traveling with his family and friends.
Don is survived by his wife Jeanne, daughters Michele Renaud (Michael)
and Donna Lewis, grandchildren Brendan and Claire Renaud, as well as
many nieces, nephews and a great group of friends. He was predeceased
by his sister Jaqueline Jewell (George).
A Memorial Service will be held at Thos L. Shinn Funeral Home, 10 Hilliard
Drive, Manahawkin, NJ 08050 on Friday October 9, 2026, from 10:00 am to
12:00 pm.
