Born and raised in Jersey City, Johann spent 61 years there, raising her own family in the very home where she grew up. Twenty-two years ago, she and her husband relocated to Manahawkin, where she continued to create a warm and welcoming home for family and friends.
Family was the center of Johann's life. She treasured every moment spent with her husband, sisters, children, grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews. Known as "Mom" to many and a friend to all, she had a remarkable gift for making everyone feel at home. Her door was always open, and neighbors knew they could count on her for anything. Whether it was a home-cooked meal, a load of laundry, or a freshly ironed shirt, Johann was always ready to lend a helping hand with love and generosity.
In her spare time, Johann enjoyed shopping, playing bingo, trips to Atlantic City, traveling and gardening. She was especially proud of growing the best tomatoes around, a talent she always credited to her "secret recipe."
Johann was predeceased by her parents, Sylvester and Mabel Frank; her brother, Sylvester Frank; her sisters, Lorraine Pringle (Robert) and Dolores Schildt (Charles); and her in-laws, George Marcille and Joan Crowther (Donald) and many dear friends.
She is survived by her devoted husband of 62 years, Peter David "Dave" Marcille; her children, Joseph Marcille, Catherine Marcille (Andy Fistner), David Marcille, James Marcille (Marissa DiStaso), and Linda Marcille (Paul Rodrigues); her beloved grandchildren, Nathalie Henley (James), Erin Kerton (Rick), Olivia, Emily, Matthew, Colin, Maximus, Grace, Nico, and Ava; her cherished great-grandchildren, Mackenzie and Sloane; her sisters, Gloria and Carolin; and many loving nieces, nephews, extended family members, and dear friends.
Family and friends are invited to pay their respects during visitation on Monday, August 10, 2026, from 4:00 p.m. to 8:00 p.m. at Thos. L. Shinn Funeral Home in Manahawkin. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated on Tuesday, August 11, 2026, at 11:00 a.m. at St. Mary of the Pines Church in Manahawkin. Interment will follow at 1:30 p.m. at Brigadier General William C. Doyle Veterans Memorial Cemetery in Wrightstown.
Johann's kindness, generosity, and unconditional love touched countless lives. She will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who had the privilege of knowing her.
