“Bob”
1938–2026
Robert Wesley White, 87, Berwyn, PA, passed away peacefully on July 23, 2026, following a fall at his beach residence on Long Beach Island, NJ, after courageously battling ALS for several years. He is survived by Judy Ames White, his wife of 66 years.
Born in 1938 to the late Laurence and Mildred White in Millersburg, OH, Bob attended local schools, was a member of Faith Lutheran Church, and worked in his parents’ business White’s Floral Shop on Walnut Street. After graduating from high school in 1956, Bob enrolled at Ohio State University in Columbus, where he was a member of the Delta Tau Delta fraternity and proudly served as chapter president in 1960.
A dedicated businessman, Bob worked for several corporations including Burpee Seeds in Philadelphia, Corning Glass in New York City, Libbey Glass in Bala Cynwyd, and Maremont Arvin in Chicago. In the early 1990s, he founded Bob White & Associates, Inc., an automobile accessories sales representative agency. Bob credited many of his business accomplishments to hiring talented people to work alongside him.
A Philadelphia Eagles season ticket holder for decades, Bob was a devoted fan who supported the team, win or lose, and also cheered the OSU Buckeyes, the Phillies, and, once upon a time, the Cleveland Indians. He enjoyed all things associated with the Jersey Shore and the Florida Keys.
Above all, Bob was a devoted husband, father and grandfather. “GBob” , as his grandchildren affectionately called him, is remembered by them as being steady, supportive, and wonderfully indulgent. GBob was proud of their achievements all year long and each summer he was an active participant in every adventure.
Additional survivors include his son, Craig (Julie) White of Annapolis, MD; his daughter, Trisha White Tuttle (Brian) of West Chester, PA; five grandchildren, Chance (Rita), Somer, & Grayden White and Brendan (Daphne) & Trevor Tuttle; one great-grandson, Ronan White. In addition to his parents, Bob was predeceased by his parents-in-law, Roy and Emma Zielke Ames; his sister-in-law, Joan (Richard) Schmidt of Payne, OH; and his brother-in-law, Jerry (Barbara) Ames of Aurora, CO.
