Dorothy J. Casey, 90, of Raymond died August 15, 2012 at her residence after a brief illness. She was born on February 20, 1922 in Manchester the daughter of George and Grace (Melvin) Perkins and had lived most of her life in the Queen City. She was educated in the Manchester School System and was a graduate of Manchester Central High School.
She was a professional beautician and was the owner and operator of the Merri-Maple Beauty Salon on Laurel St. in Manchester for more than 40 years. She was also the local and state president of the NH State Board of Cosmetology.
Dorothy enjoyed family get-togethers and was very skilled in arts and crafts. She was also a member of the NH Red Hat Society.
She was predeceased by her husbands Edward Allaire in 1986 and Laurence Casey in 1999, by her former husband Delwin Richard in 2010 and by her brother Robert Perkins.
Members of her family include her three sons Ronald Richard and his wife Emma of Plano TX, Reginald Richard and his wife Pauline of Raymond and Richard Brousseau and his wife Susan of Manchester, 15 grandchildren, 11 great-grandchildren, two brothers Charles Perkins and his wife Sarah of Raymond and Walter Perkins and his wife Carol of Gloucester, VA, her sister Arlene Sargent of Kingston, a sister-in-law Jean Perkins of Candia, a stepson Wayne Casey of Canaan, NH and three stepdaughters Charlene Murray of Manchester, Patricia Rollins of Florida and Sharon Casey of Bangor, CA.
Calling hours were held on Sunday August 19 from 4-8PM at the McHugh Funeral Home 283 Hanover St. corner of Beech St. in Manchester. A Funeral Service was celebrated on Monday August 20 at 11:30AM in the funeral home. Burial followed in Holbrook Cemetery in Candia. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made in Dorothy’s name to the charity of one’s choice.
