Edward Joseph Butler

Edward J. Butler, 93 of Concord, NH passed away May 9, 2026. Ed was born in Somerville, MA to Sally (Leith) Butler & Harry M. Butler on January 20, 1933. He was a graduate of Stoneham, MA High School and attended Bentley School of Accounting and Law. He served 20 years in the United States Air Force and was a recipient of a Bronze Star while serving in Vietnam. Ed also worked for Star Market, the US Postal Service and Candia Woods Golf Links. Ed’s passion was playing golf.

He was predeceased by his loving wife Rosemarie in 2012. He also leaves behind his companion of 10 years, Irene M. Biron of Concord, NH.

Ed is survived by his children Virginia (Paul) Sorensen of Brentwood, NH, Carole (Bill-D) Brinkman of Rochester, NH, Tracey Black of Raymond, NH, and David (Johanna) Butler of Sanbornton, NH. His stepchildren Charles (Laura) Cullinane of Punta Gorda, FL, Michael (Louise) Cullinane of Manchester, NH, Cynthia (Richard) Sarcione of Hilton Head, SC, Kevin (Christine) Cullinane of Ocala, FL, and the late Alan Cullinane of Provincetown, MA. His sisters, SallyAnn (Chester-D) Thomas of Reading, MA, LouEllen (David) Fligg of Andover, MA and his late brother Harry M. Butler. His 21 grandchildren, 17 great grandchildren and 1 great, great grandchildren.

Visitation to celebrate his life will be on Thurs, May 28, 2026 from 11:00 AM-1:00 PM at the Bennett Funeral Home 209 North Main St., Concord, NH. Committal Service to follow at the NH State Veterans Cemetery 110 Daniel Webster Hwy, Boscawen, NH from 2:00 PM-2:30 PM. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the Alzheimer’s Association at www.alz.org
