Irene Dora (Bergeron) Roby, 82, of Candia, New Hampshire, passed away on June 3, 2025, at the Concord Hospital. She was born on March 19, 1943, and graduated from high school with the Class of 1961. Irene worked for many years as an art teacher, and her career took a completely different turn, eventually retiring from the aerospace industry. As a woman of deep Catholic faith, she was a communicant at St. Anne – St. Augustine Parish in Manchester and was also a member of the parishes’ Women’s Guild.
Irene was many things to many different people, she was a daughter, a sister, a wife, a teacher, a mother and a grandmother. She enjoyed some of the simple pleasures in life, from having good conversation over a game of cards, tending to the flowers in her garden, watching one of her favorite crime shows, spending time in the sun and listening to the sounds of the surf at the beach or adding to her impeccable collection of porcelain dolls. During her younger years, Irene did have a flair for the wild side and drove race cars for the Powder Puffs. Irene touched many lives in many different circles, and she will fondly be loved, cherished and missed by all.
As the beloved matriarch of her family, Irene is survived by her son Robert Lacourse and her granddaughter Kali Lacourse, both of Candia. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband Sidney Arthur Roby on October 14, 2024, and her sister, Jeannette Malanson.
To honor her late husband, the internment will be privately held and dates for a Catholic Mass and Celebration of life are to be determined. Please consider a donation for Irene’s love of rescue animals to an animal rescue of your own choosing or to St. Anne – St. Augustine Parish, 382 Beech Street, Manchester, NH 03103. Arrangements under the direction of the McHugh Funeral Home, 283 Hanover Street, Manchester, NH.
