
Virginia H. Desilets, 93, of Concord died January 30, 2014 at the Presidential Oaks after a lengthy illness. She was born in Manchester on September 24, 1920 the daughter of Walter and Bella (Bernier) Hughes. She grew up in the Queen City was educated in the local school system and was a graduate of Hesser College.
“Ginny” enjoyed bowling and playing cards with her many friends and spent many hours knitting caps for the Telephone Workers Pioneers who then distributed them to many newborn babies. She was the consummate housewife who loved caring for her family and friends. She will be remembered as a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great-grandmother and will be greatly missed.
She was a resident of the Presidential Oaks for over 13 years and her family would like to thank the staff for their loving kindness and care.
Members of her family include her two sons Douglas Desilets and his wife Coreen of Gilmanton Iron Works and Frederic Desilets of Manchester, her three grandchildren and two great-grandchildren as well as several nieces and nephews.
She was predeceased by her husband of 55 years Albert A. Desilets in January 2002.
There will be no services. The family has entrusted the McHugh Funeral Home with her care.
