

Alice M. Morgan, 86, of Marblehead, passed away peacefully in Marblehead after a brief illness on October 30, 2016. She was born in East Boston to Annie (d'Eon) and Edward d'Entremont originally from Lower West Pubnico, Nova Scotia.
Alice was an excellent student and graduated from East Boston High as their salutatorian. She was married to Charles J. Morgan, also of East Boston, on June 6, 1953. After attending Katharine Gibbs Secretarial School, she worked at the First Bank of Boston.
Alice and her family moved to Marblehead in December 1964. An avid volunteer, she was active in the Marblehead Arts Association and League of Women Voters. Alice counted the votes at town meeting and volunteered at Star of the Sea Church. She worked at Holy Name Church in Swampscott. She managed the gift shop at Salem Hospital and ran the snack shed at Gatchell's. She enjoyed birding with the Mass Audubon Society, and Gourmet Club with a group of close friends and neighbors. Al's love of reading, especially poetry, served her through her entire life; she could often be found at Marblehead Public Library.
Alice is survived by her children: Dorothy Reinhardt of San Francisco, Dan Morgan of Salem, Nancy Morgan of Salem, and John Morgan of Marblehead, her grandchildren: Meghan Porter-Mahoney, Katlyn Westafer, Katie Morgan, and Charles, Lily, and Piper Morgan. Alice is also survived by her sister: Ruth Doyle of San Diego.
A Funeral Mass in Our Lady, Star of the Sea Church followed by burial in Waterside Cemetery will take place on Saturday, June 24 with Mass beginning at 11AM.
