Alice (Smith) (White) Parsons, 71, of East Taunton, MA, died on May 15, 2018 after a brief, brave battle with cancer. Alice was born in Pittsfield, MA and was raised in Marblehead, MA. She was a graduate of Marblehead High School and Salem State College.

She resided in New Hampshire and New York before returning to her native Massachusetts in the mid-1990’s. Alice was a teacher in New Hampshire, as well as involved in supporting families in her local community. In New York, she managed a lodge for the Appalachian Mountain Club, and was most prominently the Director of Youth Services for Ulster County, funding programs and advocating for youth and families to obtain supports and services. In Massachusetts she worked for Mothers Against Drunk Driving (MADD), and was for many years an administrative assistant in the Career Services Department at Bridgewater State University, from where she retired.

Alice was well-loved by family and friends alike. She had a kind heart, and was generous with her time, support, and baking! Her laughter, love, and presence will be sorely missed.

Alice is survived by her mother, Mary Smith; husband, Albert Parsons; daughter Anna Pollard and her husband Sean, grandchildren Thomas and Emily, and granddog Duke; son William White and his wife Kerry, granddaughters Olivia and Ava; stepdaughter Cynthia (Cindy) and her husband Gary, grandchildren Olivia and Garrett, and granddog Shadow ; stepson Alan and his wife Josephine, grandson Daniel, granddaughter Tabatha, great-granddaughter Jaylah, great-grandson-to-be; stepdaughter Karen Wynkoop and her husband Bill and grandsons Billy and his wife Andrea, and grandson Alex; niece, Melissa Morgan, and aunts, uncles and cousins. She was predeceased by her father, Albert T. Smith of Marblehead, and several aunts, uncles and cousins.

A memorial service will be held at the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, MA on Saturday, May 26 at 12PM. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10AM. Burial will be private. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to a charity of your choice, or to support the Brigham and Women’s Hospital International Mesothelioma Program’s Travel Assistance Fund, Housing Assistance Fund, or Mesothelioma Treatment and Research Fund. Biography
