

Barbara M. (Hamson) Haley Fisher, 90, a lifelong Marbleheader, passed away at her home on July 29, 2011. She was the wife of the late Albert R. Haley and the late Morris J. Fisher. Born in Marblehead, she was the daughter of the late Elmer C. and Gertrude (Stone) Hamson.
Barbara was a graduate of Marblehead High School, class of 1938. She worked for the New England Telephone Company as one of the pioneer telephone operators for over 30 years. She enjoyed gardening and traveling with her husband Morris.
Barbara is survived by two sons, Robert W. Haley and his wife Louise, and Richard W. Haley and his wife Mary all of Marblehead; two brothers, Roger E. Hamson of Lynnfield, and Marshall K. Hamson and his wife Sharon of AR; four grandchildren, Nancy E. Rhoades of ME, Elizabeth J. Haley, Robert B. Haley both of Marblehead, and Anne H. LaGhetto of Danvers; eleven great-grandchildren; and many nieces and nephews. She was also the sister of the late Donald S. Hamson, Melvin S. Hamson, G. Elizabeth Kobialka, and Jean R. Carey; and the grandmother of the late Rebecca A. Haley.
A memorial service will be held at the Unitarian Universalist Church, 28 Mugford Street, Marblehead on Saturday, October 8 at 2PM. Relatives and friends respectfully invited.
