Bradford D. Bates
July 25, 1939 – December 31, 2020
Bradford D. Bates, age 81, passed away unexpectedly at his home on December 31, 2020.
Born in Marblehead, MA on July 25, 1939, he was a son of the late Reginald and Muriel (Damron) Bates. Following college, Brad went on to work for State Street Bank then Discover for many years until his retirement Brad also served in the National Guard.
In his free time Brad loved nothing more than acquiring and working on cars. He especially liked old hot rods that he could drive down to the beach and around Route 1.He enjoyed sitting at Tuckers Wharf watching the people go by and the boats in the harbor.
Surviving Brad are his daughters, Michelle Campbell and her husband Scott of Barrington, NH, and Libby Bowen of Marblehead; his brother Doug Bates of Marblehead; his former wife Jane Bates of Amesbury; his step-children, Nicole Morgan of Salisbury, and Vaughan Morgan of Dover; his 10 grandchildren, 3 great grandchildren, niece and nephew, as well as many other friends and relatives.
Brad was the dear brother of the late Raymond Bates, and former husband of the late Louise Bates, and Marise Boud.
Arrangements: Due to Covid-19 restrictions, all services for Brad will be held privately.
