Obituary of Cynthia S. Kilbarger
MARBLEHEAD - Cynthia (Cyndi) Sue Kilbarger, age 69, born in Columbus, Ohio on May 28, 1952, passed away peacefully on May 6, 2022. Cyndi graduated from Lancaster High School in 1970. She created her own degree program at Ohio University in 1975, which she was very proud of, and it enabled her to enter Corporate America to travel the world and reach for the stars. After retiring from business, she spent the last 20 years as a real estate agent in Marblehead. Cyndi joined the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor in 2002. She was very involved in many of the charitable events and projects that the Rotary Club participated in, including, delivering sundaes and holiday gifts to the elderly, co-chairing the Art Auction, volunteering to decorate Abbot Hall for the annual Holiday Pops concert as well as managing the dessert tables during the concert. Cyndi’s pride and joy was coordinating the one-day visit the Friends Forever teens had in Marblehead each year. She worked extremely hard to make sure they had an amazing day, and they always did, with their visit to Marblehead High School, taking a boat ride around Marblehead Harbor and ending the day with dinner with members of the two Rotary Clubs located in Marblehead and the high school students. Cyndi formed close relationships with the teens and stayed in touch with many of them throughout the years. The Friends Forever teens always stated that their day visit in Marblehead was their favorite and most memorable day in the United States. Cyndi was a recipient of a Paul Harris Fellow, which is given to Rotary members for their service above self. Cyndi was also involved with the Marblehead Chamber of Commerce and was a member of the Chamber Board of Directors. Cyndi had a heart of gold. She was thoughtful, caring and generous. Her family and friends meant everything to her. Cyndi managed to stay connected with her family even with her busy work schedule and the distance between them. Her smile and laughter will be missed by so many. Cyndi was predeceased by her parents, Ray and Mabel (Hupp) Kilbarger as well as her beloved dog, Duffy. Cyndi will be dearly missed by her brother Bill Kilbarger and his wife Jan, Gregg Kilbarger and his wife Nikki, her nieces and nephews, Beth Eaton, Brian Kilbarger and his wife Jen, Michelle Elbert and her husband Ben, and Scott Kilbarger. Cyndi is also survived by several great nieces and nephews. Cyndi’s nieces and nephews knew she loved them immensely and that they were important to her. Cyndi also leaves behind her other beloved dog, Wylie. A Celebration of Life will be held on June 12, 2022, at 1:30 p.m. at the Old North Church, 35 Washington Street, Marblehead, MA 01945. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Cyndi’s memory to the Rotary Club of Marblehead Harbor’s Scholarship Fund. Checks may be made payable to Marblehead Scholarships and mailed to 295 Washington Street, Marblehead, MA 01945, or payments may be made online at
