MARBLEHEAD – David Thomas Peralta, 76, a longtime resident of Marblehead, passed away on Sunday, March 7, 2021 at The Lafayette surrounded by his loving family. David was the beloved husband of Donna (Pugh) Peralta with whom he would have celebrated 52 years of marriage next month.
Born in Lynn and raised in Swampscott, he was the son of the late Francis and Thelma (Ricker) Peralta. He graduated from Swampscott High School with the class of 1964. He served in the US Army Reserves and attended Miami Dade Junior College and Bentley College. David joined his grandfather’s insurance agency F J Peralta Insurance in Lynn as a broker and ran it and an associated tax preparation business for over 40 years.
David was the loving father of David D. Peralta of Beverly, Dean Peralta and his wife, Christina and Dana Peralta, all of Marblehead; the cherished grandfather of Dallas Raye and Dakota Ryder Peralta, Kelsea, Christopher, Kaylee and Sadee; and the dear brother of Judy Bargfrede of Marblehead, Richard Peralta and his wife, Sandy of Montana, and Francis Peralta, III of Marblehead. He was also the uncle of several nieces and nephews.
David enjoyed grilling and cooking for his family and friends, tending to his vegetable garden and working around his house. Over the years when he wasn’t home or entertaining locally, David also enjoyed getting back to nature at his camp in Sanford, ME. Most of all, he loved spending time with his family and friends.
Visiting hours will be held on Sunday, March 14th from 2: 00 p.m. to 6:00 p.m. at Eustis & Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm Street with appropriate social distancing and attendance restrictions in place. Funeral services and burial in Waterside Cemetery will be private due to current attendance and gathering restrictions.
