March 24, 1988 – May 13, 2018
A beautiful star has passed across the sky. Deacon Winslow Harris, a cherished son, adored brother, brother-in-law, grandson, nephew, cousin, treasured friend, and a devoted colleague, left us on May 13th of natural causes at the age of 30. Deacon grew up on the shore he loved in Marblehead, Massachusetts. He was born on March 24, 1988, in Beverly, Massachusetts. As a boy, he attended the Tower School and later graduated from St. John's Prep in Danvers in 2006. At Muhlenberg College, Deacon studied scenic design, receiving a bachelor of arts degree in 2010. He loved to travel and spent a semester furthering his theater studies at Goldsmiths, University of London. For the last five years, Deacon was employed by Analogic Corporation, most recently as a Human Resources Business Partner.
Deacon leaves behind his loving family, including his parents Debra Glabeau and Kenelm Harris, his sister, Morgan Harris and her husband, Ryan Devlin, as well as many cousins, aunts and uncles. Deacon's grandparents, Janet Beckendorf Glabau and Howard Glabau, and Mildred Worth Harris and Kenelmn Harris, Sr., preceded him in death.
Deacon was a gifted humorist who was never happier than being in a room with family or friends and spreading his unique brand of energy and joy. With a heart as big as his infectious smile, he was an instant friend to all he met.
All are invited to a celebration of Deacon's life at Old North Church, 35 Washington Street, Marblehead, Massachusetts, on Saturday, June 2nd at 11:00 A.M. Donations in Deacon's memory may be made to St. John's Prep, 72 Spring Street, Danvers, MA 01923 www.stjohnsprep.org. Arrangements by Eustis and Cornell of Marblehead.
