Born in Wellesley, MA on June 5, 1932 he was the son of the late Thurman and Frances (McGuiness) Puckett. A graduate of Wellesley High School and Huntington Preparatory in Boston; he served honorably in the US Army during the Korean War.
Upon his return from Korea, he worked for Brewer and Lord in Boston, Farquhar and Black, and Consoles Insurance both in Lynn, and Allan Insurance in Salem in commercial lines underwriting.
In 1960 he moved to Marblehead where he became an avid sailor and golfer. He had two holes in ones which he was very proud of.
In addition to Rebecca, Fran is survived by two nephews, Robert Hinchey of Westport, and Stephen Hinchey of Vermont; and a cousin, Ann Marie McGuiness of Boston. He was the brother of the late Dorothy (Puckett) Hinchey.
A funeral service will be held at the Dr. Arland A. Dirlam Chapel in Waterside Cemetery, 294 West Shore Drive, Marblehead on Friday, June 29 at 11AM. Burial with honors to immediately follow. Memorial contributions may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, or to North Shore Elder Services, 300 Rosewood Dr. Ste. 200, both in Danvers, MA 01923.
