Frank Ernest Tuxbury Jr.

Frank Ernest Tuxbury Jr., age 96, of Danvers, formerly of West Peabody, New London, NH and Marblehead passed away on Saturday, September 30, 2023. Frank was the beloved husband of Maxine (Hammer) Tuxbury, of Danvers, with whom he shared over 50 years of marriage. Born and raised in Marblehead, Frank was the son of the late Frank E. Tuxbury Sr. and Mabel (Reed) Tuxbury.

He graduated from Marblehead High School with the class of 1945 and served in the US Navy in New York at the end of World War II from March of 1945 to November of 1946. He graduated from Worcester Academy in 1947, earned a bachelor's degree from Middlebury College in 1951 and later in his career earned a master's degree in teaching from Salem State College while teaching in Massachusetts.

Frank was a teacher and taught in Washington, DC, Florida, Connecticut and finally spending the bulk of his career teaching middle school in Reading, Massachusetts until his retirement.

Frank held multiple Golf Club Championships at Tedesco Country Club in 1959 and 1961, Wenham Country Club, 1963 and Lake Sunapee Country Club, 1973. He enjoyed traveling with Maxine on multiple Ski Trips to Utah and on trips to the United Kingdom and the Continent.

Besides his wife Maxine, Frank is survived by several extended family members, including his nephew, David (Janice) Cochrane, niece Gail (Robert) Lawson, great niece, Caitlin (James) Manigley great nephews, Kieran (Julia)Cochrane, Brian and Eric Fowler, cousin, Carolyn Steadman, great great nephew Henry Manigley and great great niece Adeline Cochrane.

Graveside Services at Waterside Cemetery are private.
