He was raised and educated in East Boston. Mr. Santarpio was a U.S Army veteran who served his country from 1956-1958. He retired as the Assistant Commissioner of Probation in Boston.
He is survived by his daughter, Lisa Santarpio Giordano and his son-in-law, Greg Giordano; four grandchildren, seven great-grandchildren; his son, Fred Santarpio; and his sister, Marie Valentine and her children. He was the brother of the late Eddie Santarpio. Fred is also going to be deeply missed by his beloved dog Rocco.
A funeral service will be held in the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead on Saturday, March 21 at 10:30AM followed by entombment in Holy Cross Cemetery, Malden. Visitation will begin at 9AM.
