

George A. Dearborn, 93, of Marblehead, passed away on Wednesday, May 23 2012. He was the devoted husband of Nathalie Ruth (Anderson) Dearborn with whom he shared 70 years of marriage. Born in West Lynn on March 18, 1919, he was the son of the late Russell and Albina (Mansfield) Dearborn.
He was a graduate of Lynn Classical High School, class of 1937. In April 1944, he joined the United States Navy Submarine Corp and served as a Machinist Mate First Class and was Honorably Discharged in April 1946. He was employed by the General Electric Company in Lynn as a tool and die maker, and was the owner of Dearborn Tool and Die Company of Marblehead.
George was a member of the York Rite, Philanthropic Lodge, Sutton Royal Arch Chapter, Salem Council of Royal and Select Masters, Shriners Aleppo Temple, and served as Past District Deputy Grand High Priest. He was also a member of the Clifton Lutheran Church of Marblehead since 1954, and a 50 year member of the International Dory Race Committee.
In addition to his wife, Mr. Dearborn is survived by two children, Michael Dearborn of Gloucester, and Carolyn Dearborn King of Billerica; five grandchildren, Peter and Christopher Dearborn, Courtney Morse, and Benjamin and Katherine King; and two great-granddaughters, Reece and Sloane Dearborn. He was also the brother of the late Frances Williams and Ruth Paine.
A funeral service will be held at the Clifton Lutheran Church, 150 Humphrey Street, Marblehead on Wednesday, May 30 at 11AM. Burial with military honors to follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. Relatives and friends respectfully invited. Visiting hours will be held at the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead, on Tuesday from 4-8PM. A Masonic Service will be held at 7PM. Donations may be made in his memory to the Philanthropic Lodge Scholarship Fund, P.O. Box 264, Marblehead, MA 01945.
