Helen L. (Glazebrook) Beck, 59, of Marblehead, MA passed away at her home on Friday, March 12, following a lengthy illness. She was the wife of Alfons Beck with whom she shared 37 years of marriage. Born in Philadelphia, PA, she was the daughter of James and Gloria (Marks) Glazebrook of Paoli, PA.
She was a graduate of West Chester University with a teaching degree in Elementary Education. She taught second grade for twenty years in Lancaster, PA. In 2006, due to a career opportunity for Alfons, they moved to Marblehead. Her true passion was to teach children, and her hope was to teach them in Marblehead, but was unable due to her illness.
In addition to her husband and parents, Helen is survived by two sons, Brian Beck and Eric Beck both of Denver, CO; two sisters, Suzanne Edwards and Louise Cook; a brother, James Glazebrook all of Paoli, PA; and two nieces and three nephews. A private burial will be held in Paoli, PA at a later date. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the National Eating Disorders Association, 603 Stewart Street, Suite 803, Seattle, WA 98101.
