Helen "Chee Chee" DiGiammarino

Helen “Chee Chee” Ann DiGiammarino born July 7, 1941, a long-term resident of Marblehead, MA, died on November 18, 2014. Chee Chee was born and raised in Malden, MA and graduated from Girls Catholic High School. Chee Chee was a devoted mother, grandmother, daughter, and aunt who held family and her Catholic faith of the utmost importance. She worked as an executive office assistant at Mass General Hospital and North Shore Medical Center, while raising her children and attending church activities.

Chee Chee is one of three children born to the late Ralph and “Gussie” Cosimina DeSimone and was the beloved wife and best friend of Robert DiGiammarino for over 52 years. Chee Chee will forever be remembered by her children Scott, Craig, and Rick DiGiammarino, her beloved daughters-in-law, Shelley and Beth DiGiammarino, her treasured grandchildren Robert, Amanda, Emma, and Mason DiGiammarino, Matthew and Christopher Scheffler, her devoted brothers Paul and Ralph DeSimone, her dedicated extended family including Doris, Frank, Helen, Larry, and Shirley DiGiammarino, and Faye DeSimone along with countless other nephews, nieces, family, and friends all of whom were blessed to know her.

Chee Chee loved arts and crafts, being with family and friends and participating on the Marriage Encounter Team, the Precana program, and ARISE at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church in Marblehead MA. Chee Chee touched the lives of many people with her smile, quick wit, and generous spirit, always offering kind wisdom and words at the most needed of moments.

Friends and family are invited to attend a wake on Friday, November 21 from 4-8 PM at Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street Marblehead, MA. A Funeral Mass will be celebrated at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead, MA on Saturday, November 22 at 12 o’clock. Burial to follow in Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in her memory to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital, 262 Danny Thomas Place, Memphis, TN 38105 or to the Northeast Animal Shelter, 347 Highland Ave, Salem, MA 01970.
