MARBLEHEAD – John Raymond Griffin, 56, of Peabody, formerly of Marblehead, Gloucester and Chestertown, MD, passed away at home in Peabody on Monday, April 22ndBorn in Lynn, John was the son of the late Charles H. Griffin, Sr. and the late Margaret P. (Gilligan) Graves and her late husband, Donald S. Graves; and the grandson of the late George and Genevieve Gilligan, who helped raise him. John was the loving father of Kelsey Griffin of Drexel Hill, PA and Dana Griffin of Venice, FL.; the dear brother of Charles “Charlie” Griffin and his wife, Catherine “Cathy” (Tansey) Griffin of Lynn; and their children, Shannon, Kellie and Brian Griffin; and his sister, Cheryl Chapman and her late husband, Andrew T. Chapman and her companion, James Cornwell of Harvard, MA; and Cheryl’s children, Andrew Chapman, Jr. and his wife, Tia and Jennifer Thomas and her husband, Marc, and their children, Ariana and Juliette Thomas; the beloved nephew of Charles Gilligan and his wife, Joan of Beverly, Jeanne Giblin and her late husband, Robert of Walpole and Anne Scott and her husband, David of Marblehead ; and the former husband of Angela Hart-Smith of Venice, FL. He is also survived by many cousins. John was raised and educated in Marblehead and Gloucester and graduated from Gloucester High School with the Class of 1980. He enjoyed boating, skateboarding and working on cars. Most of all, John enjoyed spending time with his family and friends. Visiting hours will be held at Eustis and Cornell of Marblehead on Friday, May 3rd, from 10:00 a.m. to 12:00 p.m. followed by a funeral service at 12:00 p.m. on Friday, in the funeral home. Burial will follow at Waterside Cemetery, Marblehead. MARBLEHEAD – John Raymond Griffin, 56, of Peabody, formerly of Marblehead, Gloucester and Chestertown, MD, passed away at home in Peabody on Monday, April 22ndBorn in Lynn, John was the son of the late Charles H.
