John was a gentle soul who became our friend many years ago. We were fortunate to meet John and Joan and enjoy their company as our side by side neighbors at the Village at Vinnin Square.
John always had a quite hello or nod as he passed by our place all the while surveying and approving my garden. He was always kind and friendly to Fran and I, our children and grandchildren. He would love to give my twins M & M's and they always looked forward to seeing him and getting those from him. We often shared gardening ideas and enjoyed the results of our efforts. We weeded, pulled out or moved various plants around to see if something new worked better but all in all we just had fun in the sun. He loved his garden and it showed, always looking great. When all was done, we would sit on either of our patios and share some family news or he and Fran would talk baseball or whatever sport was going on at the time but he would always make sure Fran was up to date with last nights game and the results of it.
We are so happy to have such fond memories of a dear friend who will surely be missed by all who knew and loved him. Love you John - Rest in peace......Diane and Fran Sponholtz
