MARBLEHEAD – Kenneth (Ken) Robert Bowden Jr., 73 of Marblehead, peacefully passed away with his spouse, Jim Nemeth, by his side on Wednesday March 14, 2025, at the Kaplan Family Hospice House, Danvers, following a lengthy illness. Ken and Jim had shared 17 years of marriage and had been together for 27 years. They started their relationship in Chicago in 1998 and moved to Marblehead in 2005. They married in 2007.
Ken was born in Brockton, the son of Kenneth Bowden Sr., and Dolores (nee Loveday) Bowden. Ken was employed throughout his life as a successful technology salesman. Ken had a passion for Marblehead and truly loved his town. When he could, Ken loved to travel, especially to Italy with a particular fondness for Florence.
He is survived by his spouse, Jim Nemeth, and sister, Diane Holmes and her large family. Ken was a beloved “fur-father” to his two cats, Bob and Carly.
Ken will be remembered as an incredible man and human being. Kind, sweet, generous, and always put others first.
Per Ken’s wishes, he is to be cremated with no wake and no graveside service. A Celebration of Life will be held sometime in the future, likely September. Burial arrangements at Waterside Cemetery being made by Eustis & Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm Street. In lieu of flowers, contributions in Ken’s memory (mention Jim as long-time GSRNE “buddy”) may be made to the German Shepherd Rescue of New England www.gsrne.org.
