Matilda V. Zompetta, a long-time resident of Marblehead, MA, a homemaker and former teacher died of natural causes on September 3, 2018 at Salem Hospital. She was born in Oak Park, Illinois December 2, 1930 and she was a graduate of Austin High School.
Ms. Zompetta earned a B.S. degree from the Illinois institute of Technology in Chicago in 1954. She taught in Chicago and Cleveland before retiring from Lynn, MA public schools.
She previously lived in Chicago, Cleveland and Cincinnati, Ohio prior to moving to Marblehead in 1958 where she lived until her death. She leaves her three children Paul and his wife Rose, Kenneth, and Carol, her sister Jeanette of Chicago, a granddaughter Jill, great grandchildren, many nieces and nephews and many dear friends.
A funeral service will be held at Eustis and Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm Street on Saturday, September 22 at 11AM. Visitation will be held prior to the service beginning at 10AM. In lieu of flowers, donations in her memory may be made to Marblehead Scholarships, 295 Washington Street, Marblehead, MA 01945.
