Peter Hill

Peter Hill, of Marblehead, passed away on November 24, 2011 surrounded by his loving family. He was the husband of Patricia (Godfrey) Hill with whom he shared many years of happy marriage. Born in Portland, Maine, he was the son of the late John W. and Helen (McAndrew) Hill.

He graduated from Dartmouth College in 1951 with a degree in Psychology. Peter was a United States Army Veteran of the Korean War serving in Japan from 1951-1953. He worked as an industrial engineer for Carr Fastener in Cambridge for many years. He was an avid sailor. The greatest joy in his life was spending time with his family.

In addition to his wife, Peter is survived by four children, Peter Hill Jr. and his wife Carolyn of Marblehead, Geoffrey Hill of Swampscott, Laura Heagler and her husband Frank of Kansas, and Susan Throndson and her husband Neil of Salem; four grandchildren, Jennie and Joshua Hill, and Kristin and Ellie Heagler; and several nieces and nephews. He was also the brother of the late David and John Hill Jr.

Funeral services for Mr. Hill will be private. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the Kaplan Family Hospice House, 78 Liberty Street, Danvers, MA 01923. Arrangements by the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, Marblehead.
