Cill leaves behind her loving husband of 70 years, Arne, and her children and their spouses Arne(Adair), Kjell(Lori), Scott(Gail), and Lisa(Rich) and joins her youngest son, Erik(Susan), who preceded her in passing.
Born on the south shore of Boston, Cill spent 64 years of her life in in her seaside home in the town of Swampscott, sailing out of Marblehead Harbor, utilizing the local library and when she was younger, helping out on various church committees. Cill’s greatest joy in her life was her family and friends. Always the welcoming hostess, Cill would happily bring out coffee and cake if you stopped by in the afternoon, or invite you for a meal.
Cill was an avid reader, a great listener, an accomplished helmswoman, and a varnisher extraordinaire. She never hesitated to pitch in and help on projects, and along with her husband built three very large sail boats over her lifetime (Sundowner, Chimera, and Sundowner II).
Cill was a sweet, gentle person, with a core of steel, and would put her foot down if she thought you were wrong –or if you wanted cake for breakfast! Cill was central in keeping the family together, ensuring all were remembered with birthday cards and gatherings.
Along with four of her five children, she is survived by her sister Joann, her sister in marriage, Sonja, and her nine grandchildren, along with many nieces, nephews and friends all who all held a special place in her heart. She will be sorely missed.
Her family will host a gathering in her honor on Saturday, January 26th, details to follow. Friends and family are welcome. In lieu of flowers, Cill and Arne would prefer you buy yourself a good (printed) book, or contribute to your local library. Arrangements by Eustis and Cornell of Marblehead.
