

Roger Alan Martin, 70, passed away peacefully on Monday April 10, 2017. A true Marbleheader by birth and spirit, he was born June 10, 1946 the youngest son of the late James T. Martin and Doris B (Smethurst) Martin.
He graduated from Marblehead High School and went on the join the Navy in 1966. He worked for General Electric for 32 years before his retirement in October 2012. Roger had several notable accomplishments during his career including building the first simulator in Lynn and holding part ownership of a GE patent. He enjoyed traveling with his wife and friends, spending time with friends in a club for department 56 villages, but mostly relished time spent with his wife, children, and dog Dodger.
Roger is survived by his wife Glenna (Oliver) Martin of more than 46 wonderful years; his children Kimberly and Jennifer; brother David Martin and wife Ann of Marblehead; sister in laws Nancy Martin and Priscilla Martin both of Marblehead; many nieces and nephews; as well as many other relatives and countless friends; and his beloved “buddy” Dodger. Roger is predeceased by his brothers James T. Martin Jr. and Wayne D. Martin.
Visiting hours will be held at the Eustis and Cornell Funeral Home, 142 Elm Street, Marblehead on Friday, April 14 from 4-8PM. Services will be held graveside at Waterside Cemetery, 294 West Shore Drive on Saturday, April 15 at 11AM. All relatives and friends are respectfully invited to both. In lieu of flowers, memorial donations can be made to the James T. and Wayne D. Martin Memorial Scholarship, Philanthropic Lodge, 62 Pleasant Street, Marblehead, MA 01945.
