Sarah L. Stiles

She was the daughter of the late A. Hall and Harriet F Stiles and is survived by her devoted son, Hall Stiles Anthony of Swampscott , MA and her siblings William F Stiles of Darien, CT, Linda S Ferguson, Darien, CT and Elizabeth Stoner, Barrington, RI. former husband Jim Anthony, Marblehead, MA and many nieces and nephews.

Sarah was a graduate of Pingree School, South Hamilton, MA and the University of Denver. She enjoyed a career in retailing including assisting her father at the former TW Roger’s Co in Lynn, MA.

Sarah was a lifelong member of The Beach Club in Swampscott where she loved to swim and walk the length of Preston Beach. As an adult, she often hosted family gatherings at the beach. Sarah spent winters skiing in and around North Conway, NH as well as hiking many trails in the White Mountains in the summer.

Sarah maintained close friendships throughout her life with neighbors from her youth, including the late Nelson Darling who was an advisor and friend whom she thought of as a second father. She will be remembered by her many friends for her kindness, her sense of humor and her devotion to family.

A Memorial Service for Sarah will be held on Thursday, April 23rd at 11:00 a.m. at St. Andrew's Episcopal Church, 135 Lafayette Street, Marblehead. Relatives and friends are respectfully invited to attend.
