Sheila Millard Sheehan, 83, of Marblehead, peacefully passed away on November 24, 2017 after suffering a long illness at MGH Cancer Center in Boston where she was cared for by a remarkable and loving staff. Her family was by her side to share a peaceful goodbye.
Sheila was the beloved mother to four children: Colonel Stephen Sheehan USMC Ret., Susan Brennan, Lisa Mannix, and Carolyn Velji. She grew up in Troy, New York and raised her children in Freehold, New Jersey and Acton, Massachusetts. For the past 20 years, Sheila was fortunate enough to live close by two of her children and their families in Marblehead.
She was adored by her survived husband (separated) Raymond C. Sheehan who lives in Florida, children, son-in-laws, six grandchildren, four great grandchildren, three sisters, extended family, friends, and neighbors. She brightened the world with her colorful spirit that was often reflected in her warm smile, her beautiful flowing skirts and by her vibrant, overflowing flower boxes that could be seen each season from Crosby’s parking lot.
A Funeral Mass for beloved Sheila will be held at Our Lady Star of the Sea Church, 85 Atlantic Avenue, Marblehead on Monday, December 4 at 10AM followed by burial in Our Lady Star of the Sea Cemetery, Marblehead.
