

Born in Marblehead, Billy was the beloved son of the late Manford L. Porter and Helen T. (Swiniarski) Porter. Billy is survived by his loving wife Neysa A. Porter and four sons: Joshua, Stephen, Billy and his wife, Jennifer and Jacob and his partner, Jennifer. In addition to his four sons, Billy was the adoring Grandfather of Kate, Abraham, Ryan, Miles and his sister, Molly.
Billy was the dear brother of Lauretta Johnson of Marietta, GA; Kathy Collin of Georgetown, MA; Virginia Porter of Seabrook, New Hampshire; Thomas Porter of Sedgwick, ME; the late Manford Porter of Gloucester, MA and the late Frank Porter of Los Angeles, CA and dear Uncle to many nieces and nephews.
Born into a fishing family, Billy enjoyed a successful and life-long career as a commercial fisherman and enjoyed sharing this heritage with his sons, two of which followed in his footsteps as commercial lobstermen.
Billy will be especially remembered for his kindness, Heart of Gold, love for his family and infamous fishing stories (all true…and then some!).
The Man, the Myth, the Legend…He will be dearly missed.
Visiting hours will be held on Friday, August 27th , from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Eustis & Cornell of Marblehead, 142 Elm Street. A funeral service will be held on Saturday, August 28th at 10:00 a.m. at the First Baptist Church of Salem, 292 Lafayette Street, all are welcome. Interment will be private. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions is his memory may be made to Lifebridge North Shore Shelter in Salem via website listed below.
